The Vice-Chancellor

Dr Josephine Chinjioma Egbuta has been Vice-Chancellor of the University since 2020, having previously served as Pro-Vice-Chancellor between 2014-20 and in other administrative roles for the University since 2008. She is also Director of Operations for Africa.

She is head of the High-Grade Professional Education Centre in Lagos, Nigeria, and succeeded her husband, the late Professor Williams Ahamefula Okike Egbuta, who was Head of All-Africa Operations for the University. Her specialism is in higher education administration and management.

She is a graduate of the University, having earned her Bachelor of Science in Educational Management in 2011, and went on to earn a Master of Education degree. In 2015, the University conferred on her the honorary degree of Doctor of Humane Letters in recognition of her service to the University.
