Okwun Omeaku

A Veteran broadcaster and a seasoned administrator, Okwun Omeaku has over 40 years of media experience. Trained locally and overseas, he worked his way up the ladder in NTA (African largest Television Network) to top management level before retiring in 1999. He has been into media practice sine then, as consultant, Publisher (Newspaper), Advertising expert, Compere, Script writer, Voice and speech trainer, and Public Relations guru. He is currently the Ag. Public Relations Officer at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (2014 till date). Chief Omeaku, as he is known by all, has been through series of training in middle and top management levels locally and abroad.

Born in Ohafia, Abia state Nigeria some seven decades ago, he holds multiple Diploma degrees in Mass Communication, (including UNN – 1992), Sports Journalism, a Post Graduate Diploma in Public Administration, and Honorary Doctorate Degree (HonDSc) from European-American University in 2016. He is a Member, Nigeria Institute of Public Relations, Fellow, Corporate Institute of Nigeria (FCAI), a philanthropist and Paul Harris Fellow (PHF) – Rotary  International.  He is a Patron of many organisations including the Ohafia Improvement Union Inc – his hometown, holds multiple Chieftancy titles, and is a philanthropist. He has held many key offices of responsibility in both local and International fora with Awards to his credit. He has bagged several award; Hall of Fame – Accolade Communications, African Leader Par Excellence Award etc. Chair Editorial Board Queens Press Ltd- Evening Waves Newspapers.  He is Past President, O.I.U Inc. – The Rivers/Bayelsa.

He is an ECK Clergy – Priest in ECKANKAR. He is happily married with children and grandchildren too.
