The bachelor’s degree (UNESCO ISCED level 6) is a first professional degree that generally represents 120 semester credit hours and is undertaken over three to four years minimum of postsecondary undergraduate study (or part-time equivalent), allowing for a broad general grounding in a given subject area.
Entry to a bachelor’s degree programme requires either graduation from secondary education (high school) or its equivalent. The University can in some cases consider learning experiences that have been gained through work as the equivalent to formal completion of secondary education.
European-American University offers multiple options to earn a bachelor’s degree. All such options can be completed fully by self-paced distance learning, with no physical attendance required for supervision or assessment.
The bachelor’s degrees offered by European-American University include the Bachelor of Arts (B.A.), Bachelor of Humanities (B.Hum.), Bachelor of Music (B.Mus.) and Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A.) The degree of Bachelor of Philosophy (B.Phil.) can be earned via submission of a research dissertation. In religious disciplines, European-American University and Theological Seminary also awards the Bachelor of Ministry (B.Min.) degree, and may be an awarding body for the Bachelor of Humanities, Bachelor of Music and Bachelor of Philosophy degrees where these have a sufficient religious component.
With the exception of the B.Phil., which is awarded as a higher bachelor’s degree and therefore is a pass degree only, bachelor’s degrees are either awarded as a pass degree or with classed honours depending on the academic level achieved by the candidate. However, it is possible for a candidate to follow a designated syllabus leading solely to a pass degree if for whatever reason they do not want to undertake the more demanding classed honours route.
Some students pursuing a course of study towards a bachelor’s degree may opt to break their studies into shorter sections, earning a Certificate of Higher Education in their first year, an associate’s degree in their second year, and then a bachelor’s degree in their third year.

Top-up programmes
The option of a top-up programme is particularly popular at the bachelor’s degree level. Often a candidate will have completed a previous university-level diploma or other professional credential that fulfils a significant proportion of the requirements for a bachelor’s degree. In this situation, they need only complete a top-up dissertation or professional project in order to progress to the bachelor’s degree. The scope of the dissertation or project is decided individually in each case, though there are some common equivalencies that are used. For example, where a candidate can show that they have completed two years of postsecondary education, they can go on to earn a bachelor’s degree on submission of a 30,000 word dissertation or equivalent professional project.
