The 2009 Convocation was held at the campus of the University of Lagos, Nigeria,  on Saturday 11 July at 10am,by kind permission of the University authorities.

The purpose of this convocation was to focus specifically on recipients of honorary degrees in Nigeria. The convocation was co-ordinated and led by Professor Williams A.O. Egbuta, Hon. Co-ordinator for West Africa and his staff. Leaders from all sections of Nigeria’s community were present to celebrate achievement and united under a common bond of humanitarian endeavour.
